If you are a fan of old-school bobbin tensioning in-hand, this is a great bobbin. The ball style spool holders feed smoothly, and the arms are strong enough to hold the spool firmly. 

Additionally, the bobbin is well balanced and has a nice amount of weight in the knurled metal spindle, spinning very nicely while you are flattening or twisting thread during the tying process.
